MockLite LED
This simple art tool allows you to create and edit images presented on a virtual LED grid. Pick from several colors, or pick from preset palettes. Or, you can create your own palettes. Create simple animations and bring your creativity to life!
MockLite LED is free, but you can make an optional payment to support me.
Made something with the tool and wanna share it with me? Check out my Discord chat!
Features
- Several options for the digital LED panel, including size, layout, glow strength, and more.
- Save and load as many canvases as you like.
- Screenshot tool that saves a picture of your creation (without any UI stuff in the way) to share with friends.
- Several built in palettes, with support for custom palettes in many formats.
- Import and export GIFs, so you may perform touch ups to the image in other image editing software, or look at your favorite GIFs on the big screen.
Notes:
- This tool has a maximum canvas size of 512x512. Playback of canvases of such large sizes may be slow.
- If this tool proves to be popular, I will continue updating it and add more features.

Hello, I liked the idea of the program, but I want a Linux version AppImage
🦨Howdy! We have a Linux AppImage available for download too
Thank you very much.
It has some legibility issues on High DPI displays. When the “game board” is magnified, can you also zoom the rest of the interface?
For perspective, right now, I could probably get 5 of the apps menu bars in the space of my title bar. In most cases you can expect them to be more-or-less the same size.
🦊ah yea, one day we gotta get back to this and update the UI, there were quite a few things we wanted to fix but didn't have time before having to get back to other projects. They've got a much faster version of imgui too for Gamemaker now which will allow us to optimize things (and we've also got a revised GIF loader that loads larger ones *much* faster) but, right now our priority is Blobun
Thank you for the feedback though, I've noted it in our notes
You call it an “LED Grid” but to me it looks staggeringly like a virtual Lite Bright. (Particularly with the offset rows.)
I played with a Lite Bright extensively as a child.
That “House on a Hill” example could totally be done on the toy I used as a child.
🦊we really were just trying to avoid any trademark/copyright issues with this LOL
Now it makes sense why it seemed so similar. :D Good job with the name! I totally missed that MockLite was at all related to LiteBright until you said this. I totally thought it was one of those things that just independently seemed similar.
Oh sweet, I've been looking for something like this for years.
heck ye, yea there was a discussion about this kind of thing in a chat I'm in and I was like, hey I can make that
